Kelsea Ballerini just released a music video for her song “Peter Pan” and it is seriously magical, complete with daring plane stunts, speeding cars and gorgeous outfits.
“Peter Pan” is the third single off Kelsea’s debut album The First Time, following “Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Dibs.” The cinematic video slightly reminds us of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” but the performance shots of Kelsea’s windblown hair and flowing fabric are giving us major Carrie Underwood vibes, too.
“This was my favorite song on the album and releasing ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ and ‘Dibs,’ I got to show the fun youthful flirty side of me — which is definitely a side of me — but I’m a songwriter. I’m excited to show more depth,” Kelsea told Entertainment Tonight. “I’ve had short and long relationships where I feel like, emotionally, we can’t ever match up. I have friends who have been in really long term relationships or even marriages where they can’t ever match. One person isn’t as committed, or has a wandering eye, or whatever it is. You never quite make that dream couple because one is Peter Pan.”
Kelsea shot the video in the Las Vegas desert. She’ll return to Vegas on Sunday, April 3 to perform a special duet with Nick Jonas on the ACM Awards.
The “Yeah Boy” singer has already won a 2016 ACM Award for New Female Vocalist of the Year. Kelsea’s also nominated on Sunday for Female Vocalist of the Year alongside Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves and Jana Kramer.
